Its a good news for the Central Railway Commuters as Central Railway has Installed LCD TV sets on a Local Train which will ease down and entertain on board Commuters by providing them a full on entertainment and information in a Train. On a basis of Pilot Project, Central Railway has installed 18 LCD sets till now in a Local Train of 9 Boogies and also planning to install in various trains depending upon the positive response on the pilot project. According to A.K.Jain,the LCD TV will provide entertainment to the on board commuters with information and through this Central Railway will also earn a good income from this.
While Speaking to Media,Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway said,"Central Railway always their on front to provide comfort and help to the commuters and in a process Indian Railway has fixed up LCD TV in a local train. At first, we have decided to install LCD TV on a single Train of 9 Boogies with 18 LCD TV sets as just a Pilot Project.The work of installing TV sets is already started and we are hoping that by the end of this month The Train will be available for the Commuters."
When asked about the benefits of LCD TV in Train, He said,"Now Commuters can see entertainment shows on LCD TV in a train and this will be a complete time pass for the commuters. For information perspective, we will provide instant information to the commuters through on board TV in train like the time schedule and various other information. B.E.S.T Buses have already installed LCD TV sets so we have decided to put LCD TV on Train to provide entertainment to the commuters and we did this thing to provide comfort to the commuters. Central Railway has not spend any money from their side to install TV sets,as it gets from the advertisers and from the advertisement on LCD TV sets Railway will earn near about Rs. 6.5 lacs

One of the Commuter, Kaushtab Joshi said,"I think it's a good way to earn an extra revenue for a Central Railway, but if they show lot of advertisement and minimum information on LCD TV sets then its bad for the passengers, both things has to be balanced, then it's a consent for both the parties." when asked about the importance of TV,it's a good thing for the first time traveller as from the TV they can get to know about the maps and all other information related to railways.
R.K Nair, Commuter of Railway said,"Installing LCD TV is a profitable thing but if Railway invest their money on Cleanliness then it would be much more better.The trains which are there for the commuters are very unhygienic and not so clean and if Railway invest in this then it would be great.As far advertisement point of view Railway will earn from this but if it provide information then it would be much better.
Another Railway Commuter, Sachin Nandrekar said,"For general Public use, it's very useful, if people get tired then they can watch TV shows in a Train and this is a good thing for the refreshment of the mood of the commuters,they not just only show adds but provide some type of information,jokes just like in B.E.S.T buses."
