Today Mumbai Emergency Management Exercise has organised a Mock drill of Disaster Management Programme at Shivaji Park, Mumbai and the Mock drill was organised in association with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai , International agencies like New york Presbyterian and UNICEF. The Mock drill has been organised to demonstrate and test the capabilities of combat and response systems of the city like healthcare,fire, police,civil and humanitarian response mechanisms. This kind of Mock drill definitely help people to combat with the Terror Attacks, Disaster,Earthquake and natural calamities. The drill has been demonstrated by Lifesupporters Team, Civil Defence, Bomb Squad -Mumbai police and Fire Brigade. On the Mock Drill the injured victims has been rescued, served, taken to the hospital and treated there, in a life like situation.
While speaking to the Media,S S Shinde, Joint Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai Corporation said,"For the preparation of this Mock drill, U.S fire brigade personel and International agencies of newyork Presbyterian has trained the Fire Brigade Department,healthcare,fire, police of Mumbai. The Site of Mock drill has been abuzz with volunteers, evaluators,instructors and trainers who are inspecting and evaluatine every minute detail of the mock drill so that Mumbai would prepare for any Natural calamities, terror and disasters. "
On the Other side, Nilla Herming of US Fire Department said ,"We had trained the Firebrigade for this mock drill and this kind of mock drill would definitely help to combat the fire department for any Terror Attacks, Disaster,Earthquake."
