On the occasion of the Maharashtra's golden Jubilee year, Today the Konkan Bhumi Prathisthan organised a four day ''Global Konkan Festival which was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan, Minister for Industry, Port and Employment Narayan Rane, Water Resource Minister Subnil Tatkare at MMRDA Ground , B.KC, Mumbai. Several Prominent personalities from various fields like Bollywood Actor Nana Patekar, Mayor of Mumbai Shradha Jadhav, Former Cricketer Dilip Vensarkar and Bollywood Art Director Nitin Desai were also graced the event. The festival has been organised for 4 days to see the rich culture and Dance of Konkan region in Mumbai.
While Speaking to the Media, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said,"Konkan Bhoomi Pratisthan has organised a Global Konkan Festival and It's looking great that they had organised very well. The Konkan region of Maharashtra is Known for his rich culture and beauty but still the growth of the Konkan region is not prosper so well. The Growth of the Konkan is the main issue and for fulfilling the need of the region we have to take a step up to think about how to make Konkan a developed region and it is only possible when people change their mentallity about Konkan and take a positive way of Building Konkan. We even have to take care about the
environment related perspective that no Industry will be set up in Konkan which will harm the environment,only those Industry which is eco friendly to the environment will be given permission to setup their Industry in Konkan region and even other parts of Maharashtra. As Global Warming is the main concern today in the world so we have to concern about it. Development of Konkan is a major issue and growth of India is possible when all states and parts of India will developed"
On the Other side, Narayan Rane said," Global Konkan Festival has been today and I feeling very happy to see that Nitin Desai has done a great setup of Konkan and it seems as reflect image of Konkan in Mumbai. Today Global Konkan festival has been organised in Mumbai as Mumbai is a developed city but I want to see that Konkan region has to be developed and Mumbai Festival has been organised in Districts of Konkan . Konkan region of Maharashtra is now industrially competing with the other regions of Maharahtra and we have to be take major steps to improve the infrastructure in Konkan. "
Bollywood Actor Nana Patekar said,"Today I am honoured to be invited for this Global Konkan Festival and the government of Maharashtra has to do a progressive work for making the Konkan Region a Developed region. Konkan people are expecting a lot from the government but still the Government is not developed Konkan as it has developed other states of Maharashtra. Konkan people and fisherman only expecting a well developed region from government and still didn't get the facilities and Infrastructure as like other regions."
