Mumbai Cyclothon launches 'Tour-De-Mumbai' Cycling Race 2011


Tour-de-France is the World Famous Cycling Tournament in the World and on the basis of that The Identity Sports, a sports management Company in association with Cycling Federation of India will be organising a Mumbai's Cyclothon Tour-de-India Cycling Tournament on 11th and 13th February in two cities Nashik and Mumbai respectivily. Today a press conference has been organised by Identity Sports for officially launching the Mumbai Cyclothon Tour-de-Mumbai Cycling Tournament at Hotel Trident in Mumbai.The event was graced by Chairman and Managing Director of ID sports Dr. Akil Khan, President of the Cycling Federation of India Sukhadev Singh Dinsa and the Starcast of film,Dil To Bacha Hai Ji was also present for the promotion of their film. Speaking on the Occasion, Director Madhur Bhandarkar said,"I think that Cycling is the best thing for the fitness of any person, Cycling is a good thing for the heart, over all it really a great thing for the excercise. When I get time I really go for cycling for one or two times in a week and I am greatful to Akil Khan for the thing which he is doing and I wish him the very best." He is also very much excited about his film Dil to Baccha hai Ji.


On the Other side,Sukhadev Singh Dinsa said"I am feeling very happy as a president of Cycling federation,In last year the cyclothon had shown a good response in Mumbai and Maharashtra and and great people support. This year also we are expecting a great support and response."

While speaking to Media, Chairman and Managing director of ID Sports, Dr. Akil Khan said,"Mumbai is a typical formula one kind of race, their would be 9 Kms of circuit with 13 laps mainly 107 kms, there will be two stages and a lot of glamour with lot of attraction, a fashion week to speak about and trying to feel proud of cycling rather then looking upon as a means of transport.So what we are trying to do is to build up something which is not only for fitness, in a country like us we are trying that lot of people go for cycling and this is what we are trying to do. We are going on the line of Tour-de-France and last year we have only one day race but this year we are going for two days and in the future we are planning to come up with a Tour-de-India Kind of race."
