BEST Drivers and Conductors protested against the General Manager of BEST

Today the frequency of the BEST buses was less in Mumbai as about 8000 out of 9000 Junior Grade and Daily Rated Drivers and Conductors were not gone for their work as they are protesting against the General manager of the BEST undertaking about the exploitation of these drivers and conductors. It's only peaceful protest against the BEST administration for a day.

While Speaking to the media,General Secretary of BEST Worker Union, Sharad Rao said," The General Manager of BEST Undertaking is violating all the Labour laws by violating Motor Transport Workers Act and also ignoring Case laws and the principle of Equal Wage for Equal Work". He also said,"BEST meeting was held on last Friday and General manager of the BEST spoken badly to the 2000 junior grade BEST employees and also used insulting words for them during the meeting. We appeal to the General Manager of the Best Committee to make all these employees permanent in BEST Undertaking, with equal wages, allowances and other facilities on par with Permanent employees.

He also address that all the Air conditioner Buses are losing Rs 7000 every day and in every BEST Bus Depot there is problem of Parking which has to be solved and even the buses do not get maintenance". He also challenged that he can prove with their Documents that the BEST is in profit where as the BEST committee says that they are in loss.
