12th Mumbai Film Festival reaching its new height.

Mumbai Initiative of Moving Image(MAMI) has organised a red carpet for the Opening day of the 12th Mumbai Film Festival. Celebrities like Manoj Kumar, Prem Chopra, Shyam Benegal, Manisha Lamba, Sudhir Mishra, Satish Kausik were present at the first day of the the Mumbai Film Festival. Over 200 films from 60 countries is on from now for the film lovers and critics at Mumbai. Its an Eight day film festival which will showcase films of different countries and there is a huge collection of films from Japanese Cinema too.In this collection of films,15 documentaries, 24 short films are also included. These films will be screened at nine different cinemas across Mumbai and over a crore rupees will be given in prize money.

In this Film Festival will not only showcase the film but the MAMI Committee will also honour the Indian Lifetime Achievement Award to Indian film actor-director-screenwriter,producer Manoj Kumar and Three time Academy Award Winner Oliver Stone.

While Speaking to the Media,Shyam Benegal said,"Mumbai Film Festival consists of Super bunch of films for those who love films and there is a collection of 43 japanese films.Even there are people who are specially interested only for Japanese films"

On the other hand,Manoj Kumar said,"There are so many festivals and awards funtions but the MAMI Committee members knows all about the films and their expert panel had chosen the best films." On asking the question in context to Life Time Achievement Award, Manoj Kumar Said,"I feel just like a person who is older in a family and awarded by the younger relatives and this kind of awards gives us a determination to perform better."

Prem Chopra said,"This festival has all sorts of cinema and its going to be a great to see films of different languages and i really love films."

Manisha Lamba has also present at the red carpet and said,"There are almost 200 films in which the first to be screened is The Social Network and from me all are great films "She also gave her best wishes sanjay Dutt and manyata for their newly born twins
